THE TRACK Outback Race

THE TRACK Outback Race is a 520 km foot race with 9 stages. Participants will be self-sufficient for food. 

Each competitor must carry his/her own backpack containing food, sleeping gear and other material.

THE TRACK Outback Race is the world's longest multi-stage running race with sefl-sufficiency.

Competitors out of the limit time for one stage (the time limit is 10 hours), will stay in the race and will run to join Uluru. They will be classified by their kilometer run during the race and not about the time.

How to register ?

image16 The race fee for THE TRACK is 1 900 Euros without air transport.

image16 The race fee is 3 300 Euros for these departure points: Paris, Lyon, Nice, Toulouse, Genève, Zurich, Brussels, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and London.

The race fee of 3 300 Euros included:

  • Return flights from Paris to Alice Springs
  • Road transfers in Australia
  • Camping accommodation prior to the race (2 nights)
  • All meals at the pre-race camp
  • Accommodation at Ayers Rock after the race (2 nights)
  • Accommodation during the race
  • Mineral water
  • Technical and medical support
  • Race medal, t-shirt and race number for THE TRACK

The fee do not take into account possible tax price increases relating to increases in the oil price.

Before 30 November 2011.

  • Registration form, completed, dated and signed
  • Personal information, completed, dated and signed
  • An initial race fee of 1 600 Euros to be paid
  • To guarantee your place, the race fee must be paid in full no later than 31 January 2011

Before 31 January 2012.

  • You must pay the balance of entry fees  
  • Administrative file completed

Since the total number of participants is limited, the organization will accept entries in line with available places and will enroll only those whose administrative dossiers are complete.

All payments must be made by cheque to the order of THE TRACK Organisation or by credit transfer. 

image16  ADMINISTRATIVE FILE

The following compulsory documents must arrive before 31 January 2012:

  • Registration form and Medical certificate, completed, dated and signed
  • Personal information, completed, dated and signed
  • The race rules with the mention “I have read, understood and accept the above race rules in full” followed your signature.
  • Photocopy of your passport (including issue date). Must be valid until at least November 2013
  • 2 identity-sized photos (with the competitor’s name on the back)
  • Certificate of Assistance and Repatriation insurance 

image16  MEDICAL FILE

  • A standard medical certificate can be downloaded from THE TRACK website. It must be signed by a GP confirming that you are cleared to take part in this event.
  • An ECG performed less than 30 days prior to the race. The original document, dated and signed, will be presented during the administrative and technical checks on 9 May 2012. 
  • If either of these documents is not provided, the competitor may be withdrawn from the race and will forfeit the entire race fee.

image16 THE TRACK Outback Race will be held in the Northern Territory of Australia, in the Outback, between the town of Alice Springs and the Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park. THE TRACK Outback Race will enable you to know the feelings of a pioneer and to discover emblematic Australian Outback.

image16 The first half of the race will take place within the West MacDonnells National Park. The route will run in the South on the direction of Finke Gorge National Park. For the second half of the race, the runners will go down in direction of the Uluru, registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. We will then cross Aboriginal Land, property of the Anangu community.

The arrival will be at proximity has Uluru, Australia’s most iconic site. Uluru is the largest monolith in the world. It stands in the middle of the desert, with its color changing according to its exposure to the sun.
